Just a thought I had: We probably won't need to retcon references to the Scratch, since Shep wouldn't have mentioned it first. Because he likes messing with people, and because he could just be using the term they are comfortable with when referring to "traveling through paradox space."

Essentially: because Lygara had originally said the game ended when BK died, and we rechecked our facts and found that was wrong...new gameplan

Jeanne's so far gone she wants to start the Reckoning herself but accidentally destroys the black scepter during her rampage. WK hides the white scepter with Evan on Prospit (Matt has Space duty, Shea has done enough damage on Prospit...and Derse isn't safe, ruling out Eris, Joan, and Rick). This works till Evan dies and gets revived, taking the scepter with him, where Jeanne can find it and therefore set off the Reckoning.

So...no longer an escort mission. Jeanne Leblanc is the final boss. Which makes the kids' job only slightly easier than it would have been otherwise.

Exiles, castwise:
SC = Sparky
MM = Oblivion
CL = ???

Jeanne = Sparky/Oblivion

Also, holy thor we have a huge cast

It has also been suggested that, if we go with the original plan of the Trolls crossing into the kids' session, that the game compensates for the addition of new players into an incomplete session (as opposed to the Homestuck canon, where the Trolls' game is already done by the time the kids appear to be entering their session) by somehow beefing up the opposition, or possibly going so far as to merge the two sessions - importing the Trolls' Lands, their prototypes, possibly everything (except changing their Roles - if only because that would be needlessly complicated). Of course if we change the idea it's not necessary, but food for thought. :)

Same way Jack destroys it: gets the Black Queen's prototyping ring and goes in to attack. It's important because both Scepters cause the Reckoning, which she's decided she wants to cause. And since she's broken Derse's, she needs Prospit's.

Well, if both scepters could cause the reckoning, then there would be no point to the warring armies on the Battlefield. When the White King's scepter is captured, the Black King can start the Reckoning. Starting the Reckoning seems to be a unique property of the White King's scepter.

Also makes sense. I just assumed both scepters could. So its importance isn't as much as I thought.

Though BK does shrink after losing the scepter. So I guess if you're the BK with both ring and scepter...

Queens get rings, Kings get scepters.

With the single exception of the White Scepter having the ability to start the Reckoning, I don't think they do anything differently than conferring the prototypes on their wielders. Jack got both the BQ's ring and the WK's scepter, and nothing special happened to him except being able to start the Reckoning.

Now, if Jeanne were to manage to wear two rings from different sessions - one from the kids' session and one from the trolls' - that might be different.... Flipping The Fuck Ou

Yeah, we don't KNOW if they stack because we've never seen anything like that.

Though the only difference I can think of between the rings and scepters is that the scepters make the Kings huge.

Yeah, he may just be trying to prevent having competition. He knows he could be challenged by someone else with the other ring, so he sees it as a threat.

So, is everyone ok with Jeanne wanting the scepter to set off the Reckoning? I think it gives us a pretty good timeline, as the kids will be in the Medium for a few days before Shea gives her the bad news, and after that, it'll take probably a few days before Evan gets himself killed/revived.

It's come up in the chat, but not sure everyone saw it. Few slight updates.

- Eris is British and lives in southern England. Sis was American-raised but her family moved to the UK before Eris arrived via space rock.
- Yes she has an accent, but it's not that noticeable, as this sample should show. I know Mess said Joan's going to have fun with this, others can as well. It can be her version of Matt's hair. The accent won't show up too much in text aside from a little slang, especially considering how much slang she'd pick up from the other kids.
- This would also mean her interest in westerns is fairly recent, as it'd be something she got into after making internet friends, seeing as Joan is the only other non-American in the group

A few suggestions to integrate our exiles into the overall storyline.

* MM is originally a Pawn of the Prospit army, obviously. Specifically, he's the pawn sent by WQ and given the Scepter by WK when Jeanne first goes on her rampage. This gets him "out of the field of combat", seemingly fulfilling the wish of a soldier who does not enjoy war. Said scepter is taken back to Prospit, stashed in Evan's tower, then MM returns to the Battlefield just in time to see Jeanne kill WK; part of MM's military devotion in his Exile persona is due to a feeling of failure in choosing to abandon the battle to go on this mission instead, and not fighting at the King's side when Jeanne rebelled.

* CL I have less on, given that he hasn't interacted in the story yet. However, there's a point where Evan gets killed, revived via dreamself, and spends a while wandering around Prospit and Skaia before finding a computer and getting back in touch with the rest of the group; he could run into CL's library somewhere along the way. Said library getting absolutely demolished by Jeanne (or the PCs in a crossfire, or the Midnight Crew, or any other means) could be the start of his exile.

* Nothing at all for SC yet, at least in my head. As a Dersian getting her into the story is a little trickier, other than outright having her be a single survivor of a Jeanne attack; unlike Jack in canon with WV I don't see Jeanne as the type to "leave a single enemy alive to spread the story" or anything similar. (Yes I know Jack may not have done so for that reason but it was one of the possibilities AH presented so it's fair game.) So if we go that route it's probably more likely that Jeanne just missed her, or SC was hiding/missed the battle.

Actually this sounds great. :D

Hm, yeah, it'll probably be best to have him enter the story so we can get a better idea of how he'll be played, probably.

If I remember correctly we decided on a round-robin sort of thing for the Exiles, unless it would simply be that much funnier to have them interact with a specific person; until we choose to change it, it goes:
MM - Matt
SC - Eris
CL - Rick
MM - Joan
SC - Shea
CL - Evan
Again, that's open to adjustment for humor value (or any other reason really) as we want it. But yeah, CL should be entering the story fairly soon. I need to get another MM post up, so his Station gets to the Frog Temple and he can meet SC.

Something along that line, yeah. Jeanne just didn't have Jack's thoroughness of going back and cutting everything down to make sure. Yet. ;)
